Fort Laurens State Memorial
Ohio's only Revolutionary War fort was built in 1778 at Fort Laurens. Today, a museum contains an audio-visual presentation, artifacts from the fort's excavation and examples of weapons and uniforms used there. Visitors can see the outline of where the fort once stood and the Tomb of the unknown patriot. Fort Laurens is located on Fort Laurens Road, 1/2 mile from Exit #93 off of I-77 and includes parking for the newly dedicated multi-use pedestrian bridge connecting Zoar Village, Fort Laurens and the Ohio & Erie Canal Corridor Towpath Trail.
